Social Media Upkeep and Soccer Matches/Training
During practices or games which involves the team, Craig would want me there to take photos and videos of what was happening in order to keep the fans and followers of Livonia City FC entertained. I was given unlimited access to the Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages for the club. From here I would post daily and keep followers up to date with anything happening with the club in general. This ranged from cancelled practice sessions, to sponsor information, to try out information. I worked alongside Fred for most of this time especially with the social media work and in some occasions, Ben. These two helped me to identify what I wanted to achieve by posting on the social media pages and what images I should capture. Some of the images below show some of the matches and training sessions I was able to catch images of. Training sessions were extremely important since that was the clubs first point of contact with its followers and fans, the fans were able to come and watch the sessions if they wanted to which we encouraged to create a more comfortable environment. The other images involving the match day information is something I actually came up with this year. I thought it would be a nice addition and look more professional showing the match day information within its own context, showing the teams badges, information for the place, date and time of the game and creating a more game day vibe.
My roles included:
- Maintenance of the camera
- Taking pictures and videos during the trainings and matches (mainly videos during matches, however, could not claim game day footage, due to coaches)
- Control over all social media platforms
- Editing and creating my own social media images for promotion
